Monitoring
of HIV testing in Catalonia is based on data from networks of centres
providing HIV testing and counselling, and on data from other specific
projects. The main objectives of HIV testing monitoring are:

to
describe the activities of the laboratories performing HIV antibody
tests and the characteristics of new diagnoses;

to
describe the characteristics of persons taking tests and
particularly those testing HIV-positive at anonymous HIV counselling
and testing sites;

to
estimate access and coverage of HIV testing in selected groups and
-
to
estimate the delay in diagnosis of HIV infection.
