In
1993 behavioural monitoring of Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and of
intravenous drug users (IDUs) was introduced as part of integrated
HIV/AIDS surveillance. To date, four cross-sectional surveys have been
carried out in each population, with the objective of monitoring HIV
prevalence and risk behaviours.
